Whole Artist: Georgia Wall
Unseen Performance: December 2010
Curated by local artist Vicki Fowler, our Studio Art Dinner Series is an intimate exploration of the Chicago's underground art scene, at the dinner table.
On December 11th, we were in the home of artist Georgia Wall.
We served up some warm winter dishes, sourcing our produce and fruit from Genesis Growers and Seedling. Our goat came from a small family farm in Utica, IL, pastured and raised just for us.

Georgia's Statement:
My work explores ways in which a performer's physical identity can remain undefined.
I investigate methods that allow the body of the performer to be unseen by creating performative structures that rely on the interpretation, memory and perception of a select number of viewers. These viewers then become the vehicles through which the original performative event can be experienced. By reconstructing the accounts of the performance that these viewers provide, those coming to the work are offered an audio/visual experience from which the original performance can be recreated in the mind's eye.
