I don’t know about you, but I heart Public Radio. Back in college, I volunteered at 90.1 WEFT, the Champaign-Urbana community radio station. Briefly, I aspired to be a part-time DJ, playing tracks at my whim, seamlessly swapping vinyl, tapes, and cd’s, imposing my musical taste on thousands of listeners. I settled for alphabetizing LP records, and listening too, of course.

So when I was approached by Sound Opinions producers about putting together a dinner party for WBEZ, I was overjoyed.

Sous chef Nikki and I met up with DeRo and Kot to talk food and music. We decided to go with local music paired with local food. Some of the best music ever has come out of Chicago, so why not pair it with some of the great local food produced by local farmers? They grow it, we cook it.

After a couple weeks of research and loud music, we put together a 5 course menu. In between courses we listened to some doo-wop, which refreshed the ear as the sorbet cleansed the palate.

Check out the menu HERE.
